In some countries, social movements or initiatives were able to transform themselves into political forces that represent a wide-range of their societies, have been covering comprehensive issues, and developed into more stable political organisations, for example parties. In other countries, this has not happened (yet).
Goal: This WSF initiative serves as an initial meeting for movements and political parties from North Africa and Mashreq region working on grassroots initiatives and who are interested in learning from each other experiences and in cooperating with other political parties/movements.

Panelists:
*Beesan Ramadan, Palestine: The experience of the Youth Movement (Herak Shababi) *Sarra Soujar, Morocco: The experience of the 20 February Movement *Akram Ismail, Egypt: Bread and Freedom Party, * Adnen Haji, Tunisian MP, Natasa Theodorakopoulou (Syriza)

Seminar takes place at the Social Justice Square, Faculte des Sciences Economiques et de Gestion – Amphi 4
