Seeds of sovereignty reshaping Sudan’s food system
This study deals with the story of Sudan’s popular struggle that has been going on for more than a century against the system of obedience for food. This study takes the reader on a journey that sheds light on the general features of Sudan’s food enablers, as well as the status of its food system and its pre-war performance, and highlights the profound impact that occurred during the first three months of the conflict. It also addresses some of the structural and historical factors responsible for perpetuating hunger and the fragility of the food system. Finally, the study reviews some of the current popular and grassroots alternatives and efforts to change this reality.
