Seeds at risk: Global struggle for control over food
Seeds at risk: Global struggle for control over food
Seeds are crucial to food systems as they house the genetic information that shapes crop traits and yields. The vast diversity of seeds available today is the result of thousands of years of farmers’ shared knowledge and collective stewardship. However, corporations are attempting to gain control over seeds and the food sector through intellectual property rights, often enforced via trade agreements. The brochure “Seeds at Risk” examines the importance of seeds and the crucial role of small-scale food producers in our food systems.
Join us for the online launch of the report “Seeds at Risk” and a dialogue with people defending farmers‘ seeds and striving to transform our food systems.
