Vacancy: Public Relations Manager

The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) with its headquarters in Berlin/Germany is a political foundation affiliated with the German Left Party. We are committed to the heritage of our namesake, the socialist activist and intellectual Rosa Luxemburg. Internationally, the RLS cooperates with local actors in the search for international relations in the spirit of mutual respect, international social justice, and understanding between nations and people. We engage with democratic forces, social movements and organizations. In order to increase the visibility of our work in North Africa we are looking for a Public Relation manager who feels committed to our values and goals.

Post Conditions:

Type of contract: Local contract with 6 months’ probation period that can be converted into an unlimited contract

Working hours: Full time (40 hours/week)

Location: Based in Tunis, Tunisia

Salary & Conditions: According to RLS Tunis Salary Scale

Starting date: As soon as possible

 

Main Responsibilities:

Public relation tasks:

  • Organizing press conferences and PR events;
  • Prepare outreach material (Flyer, posters etc.);
  • Write background articles and reports on RLS activities;
  • Build a database of journalists based in Tunisia and other project countries;
  • Help to build up a network of correspondents who can write background analyses and reports on social, economic and political events on North Africa from a leftist perspective;

Website and social media tasks:

  • Development and the regular update of an attractive multilingual website and social media presence (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter) that reflect the activities of the RLS ;
  • Develop a concept and edit a newsletter of the RLS Office;
  • Cooperate with the English Website of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung in Berlin;

Event management and communication:

  • Organize In-House Events;
  • Support activities of the RLS program managers and the head of office;

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field (media and communication, social or political sciences);
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Strong knowledge, experience and understanding of the North Africa region;
  • Excellent communication skills – spoken and written – in Arabic, English and French (German is a plus);
  • Experience in media and communication strategies;
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Experience in Event management desirable;
  • Ability to work within a team.
