The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (RLS) – North Africa Office announces the launch of its new blog, which is designed to provide content that focuses on issues in the arts, literature, and politics while spotlighting marginalized communities and voices that are otherwise excluded from prevailing discourses.

 

Vision of the blog:

 

The blog aims to provide a space for discussions that support the uptake of cultural and political issues in North Africa, where arts and literature are seen as tools to understand reality and shape a more equitable future.

 

Objectives:

 

  • – Arts and Literature: Provide literary and artistic analyses that reflect cultural and linguistic diversity.
    – Politics and Culture: Critical coverage of political developments in North Africa and the world.
    – Social and Climate Justice: Emphasis on economic disparities, climate change, and food sovereignty.
    – Anti-Discrimination: Fostering debates on racial, sexual, and gender discrimination and advocating for minority rights.
    – Critiquing Power: Offering critical analyses of power politics in post-colonial and late capitalist contexts.

 

Terms of publication:

 

  • – Originality and quality: Content must be original and of high quality.
    – Adherence to the goals of the blog: Topics outside of the arts, literature, politics, social justice, and the environment may not be published.
    – Sources and references: Support articles with credible sources.
    – Language and style: Adhere to academic style and analytical criticism.

 

Book reviews:

 

– Word count: between 1500 and 3000 words.
– Critical analysis: Providing in-depth analysis that goes beyond summarization, connecting ideas to social or political context.

 

Interviews:

 

  • – Word count: no more than 3,000 words.
    – Analytical content: Interviews should contain in-depth analysis.

 

Intellectual property and image rights:

 

  •  Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): The author retains his/her intellectual property rights and grants the blog a non-exclusive publishing right.

 

Submission and review process:

 

– Submission of proposals: Proposals should be mailed to Habiba.alaya@rosalux.org .
– Reply and Rewards: Reply within two weeks and a financial reward for publication.
