Research Papers on Migration Dynamics Between Morocco, Tunisia, and Europe

Background
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) is committed to fostering understanding and addressing the complex dynamics of migration between Tunisia and Morocco in relation to Europe. Migration has profound implications for migrant families, influencing socio-economic stability, cultural dynamics, and human rights across the region.
Objective
RLS seeks to commission comprehensive research papers that explore and analyze the multifaceted dimensions of migration between Tunisia and Morocco vis-à-vis Europe, with a particular focus on the impact on migrant families. The papers should provide insights into the socio-economic, cultural, and legal aspects shaping migration patterns, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by migrant families in these contexts.
Content Focus
We invite researchers, academics, and experts to submit proposals that address the following themes:
- Migration Patterns and Trends: Analysis of current migration trends between Tunisia and Morocco to Europe, including routes, demographics, and socio-economic profiles of migrants.
- Impact on Migrant Families: Examination of the social, economic, and psychological impacts of migration on families left behind and those who migrate, including issues of integration, identity, and remittances.
- Legal and Policy Frameworks: Evaluation of existing legal frameworks and policies governing migration between Tunisia and Morocco, with a focus on human rights, protection mechanisms, and their implementation.
- Community Perspectives: Exploration of local community perspectives on migration, including perceptions, support systems, and community responses to migrant integration and challenges.
Target Audience
- Policy makers, government officials, and stakeholders involved in migration governance.
- Civil society organizations, NGOs, and advocacy groups working on migration issues.
- Academic community and researchers specializing in migration studies.
Submission Guidelines
Interested researchers should submit a proposal including:
- Abstract: A concise summary outlining the proposed research topic, methodology, and expected outcomes (up to 300 words).
- Research Plan: Detailed outline of the research methodology, including data sources, analytical approach, and timeline for completion.
- Biographical Information: Brief CV highlighting relevant experience and expertise in migration studies or related fields.
- Sample Work: Previous publications or research papers related to migration (optional but encouraged).
Submission Process
Proposals should be emailed to Procurement.NorthAfrica@rosalux.org no later than May 30 2025 . Please include “Migration Research Papers” in the subject line. Late submissions will not be considered.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance and clarity of the research objectives to the call’s themes.
- Methodological rigor and feasibility of the proposed research plan.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in migration studies or relevant fields.
- Potential impact and contribution to knowledge in the field of migration dynamics.
Language
Research papers can be submitted in French, Arabic, or English. (Translations to other languages will be decided by RLS).
Publication
Selected research papers will be published by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – North Africa Office and made available to stakeholders, researchers, and the public.
