Call for TenderTranslation, Editing, and Distribution of Political Graphic Novels
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung North Africa is launching a call for tender for a publishing house to collaborate with us on the translation, editing, and distribution of political graphic novels from English to Arabic.
This project is part of our broader work on art and resistance and leftist debates in the region. At the foundation, we view cultural and artistic production as a vital component of political knowledge creation. By engaging with the format of the graphic novel, we aim to make leftist political values and ideas accessible to younger audiences, fostering critical thinking and alternative narratives.
Scope of Work
The selected publishing house will be responsible for:
- Translation of selected political graphic novels into Arabic.
- Editing and proofreading to ensure quality and accessibility.
- Design, layout, and printing in line with professional publishing standards.
- Distribution across North Africa, ensuring access to diverse and younger readerships.
- Promotion and visibility strategies to amplify the reach and impact of the publications.
Eligibility
We invite applications from independent and progressive publishing houses that:
- Have experience in translating and publishing graphic novels or illustrated works.
- Demonstrate a commitment to progressive, leftist, and critical cultural production.
- Have an established distribution network in North Africa.
Application Requirements
Interested publishing houses are invited to submit:
- A brief presentation of their publishing house and its editorial line.
- A portfolio of previous relevant publications.
- A detailed financial proposal.
