Call for Tender: production of educational videos and short films

Food sovereignty popularization

Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, North Africa office

  1. Background

In the framework of its food sovereignty program, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation support the North African Network for Food Sovereignty through close cooperation on specific aspects of the network’s activities. Since its creation in 2017, the North African Network for Food Sovereignty has been working on the issues of small-scale food producers in the North African region. The popularization effort around the concept of food sovereignty has since begun with the creation of a website, the publication of theoretical and field studies, the production of documentaries, the organization of regional, physical and remote meetings, targeting small producers, agricultural workers and fishermen. These activities have aroused great interest in the region and have led to the membership of many organizations from North African countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria, and more recently from beyond the region, including Sudan, Mauritania, Palestine and Lebanon. Thus, the Sovereignty Network is on the path of organizational expansion to unify visions and struggles around the project of food sovereignty.

As part of this cooperation, RLS and the North African Network for Food Sovereignty aim at producing short educational videos and short films that make the issue of food sovereignty accessible to a broad public.

  1. General Objectives

In order to strengthen the resilience of North African small-scale farmers, through the production of knowledge for civil society actors and to help align agricultural policies accordingly in the future, the RLS North Africa Office and the North African Network for Food Sovereignty are seeking to contract a service provider to produce short videos on the concept of food sovereignty in the North African region and short films on the small-scale food producers issues in Morocco.

These videos and short films aim to enable the food sovereignty network to strengthen their support for small-scale food producers in the region and to promote the concept of food sovereignty. It will allow the Network to be present at the ecological film festival and to use these tools within the network.
