Call for applications: Project Manager
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) with its headquarters in Berlin/Germany is a political foundation affiliated with the German Left Party. Internationally, the RLS cooperates with local actors in the search for international relations in the spirit of mutual respect, international social justice, and understanding between nations and people. We engage with democratic forces, social movements and organizations.
We are hiring from the 1st of November 2017, a full-time Project Manager for our project „Independent universities and promotion of critical research and teaching as a contribution to democratization in Tunisia and Lebanon”. The position is based in our office in Tunis.
Main Responsibilities:
• Planning, implementing and evaluating activities of the program “Independent universities and promotion of critical research and teaching as a contribution to democratization in Tunisia and Lebanon” and cooperation projects with our partners, also outside Tunisia
• Defining program objectives and indicators according to the Guidelines of the German Foreign Ministry.
• Analytical contributions in the context of political observation i.e. participating in events and visiting programs in Tunisia, Germany or other countries.
• Administrating project work plans, our budgeting system, schedule, and revising them according to change needs and requirements
• Preparing reports and activity documentation and contributing to the preparation of project applications
• Communicating with the foundation’s headquarter in Berlin
• Cultivating contact and communicating with media representatives about the project and single activities
• Representing the Program Director during her absence
Minimum Qualifications:
• University degree ( minimum required M.A.)
• In-depth knowledge of the Tunisian and German Higher Education systems and an understanding of higher education in the Arab World
• Project management as well as strong organizational skills
• Ability to work responsibly and independently as well as in Team
• High proficiency in computer operations with MS Office Software, especially Excel
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Arabic, English, and French, German would be an advantage
• Ability and readiness to travel within the North African region, EU
